Pantry Restock — No Frills, Just Food

Hello friends,

Today I am restocking essentials around here, and this time I brought you along with me to the Costco Business Center. This visit was necessary because I the night before I went to Costco, I realized that I had run out of black bean and pinto bean. I have been caught slipping.

As a homebody, venturing out is usually for a good reason—and keeping my pantry stocked with staple foods like dried black beans and pinto beans definitely qualifies. No frills, no fluff—just a practical look at how I approach food security with intention and resourcefulness.

This post goes along with my midweek YouTube video, where I share the experience, the finds, and how I plan to store and use them. I hope it offers a little reassurance and insight for those of you also looking to build a reliable pantry without the overwhelm.

📺 Watch the full video here:

🫘 What I Picked Up:

  • 25 lbs of dried pinto beans

  • 25 lbs of dried black beans

  • A few other staples you’ll see in the video

🌱 Grounded Choices:

The foods I choose support the entire family's dietary choices. I eat a vegetarian diet and everyone else are omnivores. Both of these beans are winners for the entire family. I know I can build these into our long term food storage and they will get eaten likely in a year's time. I don't have to go to the store every time I want to process beans for canning. On top of that, making the time to pressure can some allows me to grab them for a quick bean salad, side dish, refried beans, or soup. The possibilities are many.

If you're slowly building a pantry I hope this post and video meet you there. Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today. Here’s to steady meals, stocked shelves, and small steps that add up.

Thanks for being here, friend.
May everything fall into place for you today. 🌿
